Lead Designer The Spectator at Seattle University

May 2022 – Jun 2024 | Seattle, WA

  • Created 10-15 different pieces of artwork a quarter for editorial articles, as well as other graphical elements, comics and logos using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • Pitched articles and worked closely with the editorial board to realize their vision to increase variety of articles.

  • Directed a team of three to four designers to ensure readability and user-friendly design using Adobe InDesign for layout. Created templates and styles for use by the designers, which increased efficiency of layout nights.

  • Collaborated with the editorial board, journalists, photographers and the designers to create a cohesive and creative paper, surveys reported that readers were satisfied with the layout and experience.

  • Revitalized the print edition with a refreshed style and brand which increased website traffic and established tangible community involvement.

  • Directly communicated with the printing company weekly to negotiate prices which reduced printing cost by 25%.

  • Strategically selected advertisements, increased revenue by $1200 in six months.

Graphic Design Marketing Manager Seattle University Recreation

  • Collaborated with a team of 8 marketing members including 2 other graphic designers.

  • Created content for digital and print promotional materials for Seattle University Recreation, including campus-wide posters, large scale posters, fliers, stickers, and social media posts; increased attendance of events that were marketed.

  • Produced maps and diagrams of the facility to improve way-finding. Surveys from patrons stated the maps helped with directions and improved their experience in the facility.

Installation Lead NOVA Design Exhibition

  • Instructed a team of four to install the senior design exhibition at Seattle University within one week.

  • Collaborated with the exhibition directors to manifest our team's vision, accomplished unique ideas to enhance the gallery.

  • Created the logo mark, branding, and marketing materials, with an attendance of over 300 visitors.

  • Key liaison to artist Gabrielle Wambaugh, trusted with installation, production of ceramic artwork and other design materials.

  • Worked closely with the artist for her catalog in order to tell a story that she felt reflected her ideas and creativity.
